DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

All 4 is Channel 4’s video-on-demand proposition, home to original and exclusive shows, box sets of iconic series, as well as live and catch up TV from C4’s broadcast channels.

Available as an app on over 20 different platforms including mobiles, tablets, PCs, TVs and games consoles, as well as being syndicated to the likes of Sky and Virgin, All 4 reaches over 3 million weekly viewers and has more than two thirds of all 16-34s in the UK as registered users.

The All 4 Editorial team is responsible for curating content on All 4 and managing its sub-brands (e.g. Walter Presents) across all owned-and-operated platforms, with a view to maximising video consumption and establishing All 4 as a destination of choice for UK audiences.

JOB PURPOSE

The Platform Editorial team is responsible for bringing All 4 content to life across all owned-and-operated platforms through smart curation, content strategy and audience targeting.

Each Platform Editor is responsible for managing editorial promotions across All 4 for their assigned platform group (web, mobile, big screen, console), as well as owning an audience taste group based on programme viewing and audience data. They will also be tasked with creating and managing specific areas of All 4, including the All 4 homepage, Channel Pages (Walter Presents, VICE etc), collections and ‘Watch Next’ Promotions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take personal responsibility for maximising viewing on All 4, in line with the priorities laid out by the Daily Editor and actively identify cross-promotional opportunities

• Realise the All 4 tone-of-voice through intelligent curation and copywriting including homepage planning, curating channel pages and collections and writing weekly newsletters

• Manage and schedule editorial promotions on the homepage, create and manage curated areas of All 4, including the All 4 homepage, Channel Pages (Walter Presents, VICE etc), collections and ‘Watch Next’ Promotions
• Manage daily image selection and collaborate with All 4 Picture Editors to routinely review and optimise on-platform editorial image selection and be able to identify best practice in platform editing from a broad range of competitor services

• Offer proficiency in a particular platform group (web, mobile, big screen, console), inputting into the development of front- and back-end products as appropriate

• Become an expert in an assigned target audience profile, create and manage a promotional schedule based on priorities and data to drive viewing, engage and retain

• Devise and implement MVT and A/B tests on All 4 and input into user-testing sessions

• Work closely with the All 4 Product team to drive product innovation and development

• Demonstrate a passion for television and All 4 content and recognise the appeal of a wide variety of programming to different audiences.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Demonstrable experience in content creation and managing CMS
• Demonstrable experience in, or significant exposure to, brand creation and on-going management
• Demonstrable experience in copy-writing, web/app editing and image selection
• Experience in the sophisticated use of audience data
• Demonstrable knowledge of the All 4 archive of programming
• An understanding of best practice SEO
• Experience of working in a fast-paced media environment
• Basic knowledge of Photoshop (desirable, not essential)
