Location London
Hours 0 per week
Closing Date 07 March 2019 at Midnight

We are looking for passionate people to come and join us at Channel 4 from the 15th-16th April . This opportunity is completely entry level, so we want people who have had no or very little experience in the media industry. The experience will be based in our London office and won't cost you a penny as we will cover your travel, accommodation (if you are based outside of London) as well as all food costs for the days you are with us. Please note you must be 16+ to apply for this opportunity. If you are 16 years old and from outside of London, therefore require a hotel, you MUST be accompanied by an adult for your 2 days in London if your application is successful.

You will be spending 2 days with us in 4Talent learning all about the different kinds of jobs in TV,  tips to kick starting your career in television, and help on developing those all-important employability skills! You will also get to hear from other departments at Channel 4, and find out all about what they do. This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to work in TV but is not exactly sure what they want to do yet, and needs a little help with getting things started! If you think this is what you’re after then check out an example schedule below of what the days could look like for you if you are successful.

Day 1: Enjoy your first day with us at 4Talent introducing you to Channel 4 and hearing from some C4 departments!

Day 2: More time with C4 departments, hearing about the different types of roles in TV and getting some tips from industry experts. Ending the day with some final advice on getting a job in TV!

We only have 20 Work Experience places available and will be selecting people based on your answers to the questions set.

We don’t conduct interviews to gain a place on our Work Experience scheme so if you are offered a place we’ll contact you via email by 29th March.

If you do not hear anything on this date, please assume that your application has been unsuccessful. Due to the high response expected for this opportunity, we will not be able to provide feedback on applications.

If you are not available for the 15th & 16th April please wait to apply for a future placement in 2019. Applications cannot be deferred.

Alternative application formats: We want to make the process of applying for one of our opportunities right for you as an individual, so we are happy to consider alternative formats of the application form. For example, you could arrange a phone call with 4Talent for you to speak your answers and a member of the team can scribe, or if you’d like to create a five minute YouTube video/ voice recording, these are also options available. If you have a different alternative, we really welcome your suggestions to ensure you have a fair chance of applying.

Take a look at our access page for more information, which you’ll find by clicking here. If you would like to apply for an opportunity at 4Talent and we can do anything to make that process simpler for you, please email us at or call Yasmin Mehmet on 0207 306 5188.

Please note Channel 4 is a public service broadcaster and it does not (and cannot) make its own programmes. If you are looking for production experience, we recommend you apply for opportunities with an independent production company. A list of which can be found on this website

Further information

Celebrating diversity is at the heart of Channel 4's purpose both on-screen and off-screen. Being different is therefore at our core - and we know that recruiting talent from diverse backgrounds encourages our workforce to be vibrant, creative and think differently. Our goal is also to be truly reflective of the makeup of society and we actively recruit from groups that are under-represented in the media sector. So we welcome difference be it ethnicity, religion, age, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

We have won awards from Stonewall for our work on screen and in the workplace, we are a member of the Business Disability Forum, and we are signed up as a Disability Confident employer with the Department of Work & Pensions. Channel 4 also won the company National Diversity Award - 2016. At the end of 2016 Channel 4 was awarded the National Equality Standard by EY, the only company ever to be placed at the highest level 'Institutionlised Inclusion'.

We understand that disabled people might have concerns about being discriminated against if they declare their disability when applying for a job. If that's you then don't worry - we will judge you on your abilities and fit against the job description. We are happy to discuss with you any adjustments you need to give you a level playing field during recruitment and then, if you're made an offer, we can then discuss with you the adjustments you might need to get on with the job and develop your career. Furthermore we can offer a guaranteed interview to any disabled applicant who meets the essential skills or experience listed above.
